Release Expectations…

The SimpleTicket team met today and the goal is to release SimpleTicket again internally next week. If that goes well we will release the code on the 28th after our demo at BarCampDallas. Architel clients should start seeing the new icon on their desktops during the first week in February. We believe the delays have been helpful and we hope you will be happy with our work.

If you can’t hit your release dates, why bother announcing them? Just say “it’s done when it’s done” and post updates on what has been done rather than what’s “about to be” done? It’s doesn’t look good when a company keeps slipping the release date, talking about features that they will *eventually* have.

Please, don’t take this as a flame but rather as a friendly suggestion.

BTW - you forgot to configure apache to handle http://simpleticket.net/

Thanks for the comment. Actually, there are quite a few people that knew about the project for various reasons. They told a few people and those people contacted us. Over the past few months we started getting one or two emails per day about the project. We stood up the blog to short circuit these emails – i.e. to give information as we had it. Also, there are a number of people outside of our company who are now working on the software. Talking about the process has been helpful to the development.

With regard to http://simpleticket.net we didn’t configure it for technical reasons – i.e. Some of our testing of the backend required that we keep that unresolved. Once we move from the dev system we will point it…
