SimpleTicket at BarCamp Texas

The rumor is Alex Leverington is going to demo SimpleTicket at BarCamp Texas this weekend.  I was taking a look at the new code and realized the second version has fewer lines of code than the first version.  Why, you ask?  Because this time we did it the “rails way”, using the power of rails instead of working in the traditional way.  Thanks 37 Signals!  You guys Rock!
Whurley’s BarCamp Texas is being held between 8.26.06 & 8.27.06 Thistle Cafe ,300 W. 6th Street, Austin, Texas.

So, when do we get to try it out?

    Post-BarCamp update please?

It really sounds like this project needs a deadline. More feedback is needed for sure. Maybe I’ll check in again in a year to see what has happened and if SimpleTicket is a viable alternative at that point. But for now, I’m going with another system. So long and thanks for all the fish.

I tried to install Simpleticket from your svn (whatever version that may be, I can’t tell). The install instructions are out of date, migrations fail, and then after importing the sql by hand, I can’t created a user because it says my gmail address is not an email address. Plus all the other links on the start page give rails errors.

If people are not supposed to be using Simpleticket, you have to disable all your downloads and publish some kind of release schedule instead. Otherwise it looks like just another big jumble of broken code.
